Watershed+

Watershed+

A public art strategy for the city of Calgary, Canada, led by Sans Façon.

Throughout 2009/10 Sans Façon led an interdisciplinary team – architect Yan Olivares, artist Matt Baker, water engineer Bert van Duin, graphic designer Emlyn Firth and human geographer Eric Laurier – to research the relationship between the people of Calgary, Canada and their watershed, their understanding of its built and natural systems and their impact upon it.

The result of this work is Watershed+.

As part of the Utilities and Environment Protection Public Art Plan, Watershed+ proposes a long term plan to build an emotional connection between Calgary’s citizens and their watershed by placing creativity at the heart of projects and initiatives related to Calgary’s watershed.
