ur book

Our second book as ‘in-house’ designers for Spriten Forlag, Skien, Norway
and author Mette Karlsvik.

UR may be a collection of poems. It may also be an archive. The text is a series
of observations of disappearing settlements in Greenland. It tells of Greenlandic
huntsmen forced to live in Danish housing-projects in Nuuk and a journey across
Greenlandic ice: Pieces of substance that carries traces from ten thousands of years.
Stored in the layers of ice is information about air pressure and the composition
of air from previous centuries, about seasons and climate, and a little bit about
life. Underneath it all, there may be located that which will melt and transform
the Nordic economy: natural resources.
